Charter boats
PROVIDER
Optimist Charter boats will be provided by Riotecna.
EQUIPMENT
Boats will be provided with:
- Foils (Riotecna)
- Spars (MKIII)
- Blocks
- Padded toe straps
- Air bags
- Bowline
- Trolley
Bailers, paddle, mainsheet and sails WILL NOT be provided.
Competitors may use their own foils, spars, fittings and running rigging
Charter boats ARE NOT mandatory.
FEES
CHAMPIONSHIP DAYS
- The charter fee per boat is USD 500 for the duration of the championship (March 29 to April 7 inclusive)
- Allocation of boats to sailors will be done on a random basis by the Organising Committee under the supervision of the IODA Executive Committee.
EARLY ARRIVAL DAYS
- The charter fee per boat per day is USD 30. Charter boats will be available from March 19th.
DAMAGE DEPOSITS
A damage deposit of USD 200 will be charged and refunded if no damage has occurred.
HANDLING OF BOATS
As per the Notice of Race, competitors shall not modify the boats or cause them to be modified in any way except that:
- A compass may be tied or taped to the hull or spars
- Wind indicators, including yarn or thread, may be tied or taped anywhere on the boat
- Hulls, dagger boards and rudders may be cleaned, but only with water
- Adhesive tape may be used anywhere above the water line
- All fittings or equipment designed to be adjusted may be adjusted, provided that the Class Rules are complied with
CHARTER INSTRUCTIONS
- Boats will be delivered to the teams only when the Organising Committee confirms the team have completed the registration (including the payments) at the registration office; and after all the corresponding payments including the damage deposits have been received by the boat provider.
- The team leaders will be asked to sign a proof of delivery with a description and serial number of the equipment provided.
- After the event, boats will have to be returned to the provider, who will check that the different parts of the equipment correspond to the parts provided, according to the proof of delivery.
- When damage has occurred, the provider will refund the balance of the damage deposit, if any, or will ask for an extra payment if the damage deposit does not cover the cost of the damage.
- Once the equipment has been received and damages have been paid for the provider will hand in to the team leader a document acknowledging the return of the boats.
